From Arthur Waley's Introduction to the study of Chinese Painting. This is an inscription from the tomb of Wu Yen-Ling. Said to have been designed by Confucius. It consists of ten characters, which read: Alas! Here is that noble gentleman Wu Yen-ling's tomb.
