Time Geography

The Swedish geographer Torsten H├Ągerstrand (1916-2004) was a pioneer in the study of Time Geography. A key part of his work was the development of methods for visualising worldlines. Most commonly he used three dimensional diagrams, with a 2D plane showing position on the ground, and the vertical axis time.

He called these visualisations spacetime aquariums.
